HEALTHY WORK ENVIRONMENTS STARTS WITH BMAIR
SmartTech Australia is proud to be introducing BMair to the Australian Market. This new era in Cabin Air Filtration combines the durability of stainless steel components, with high grade HEPA filters and digital controllers which monitor cabin pressure, CO2 & hydrocarbons.
All BMair systems utilise advanced cabin air filtration technologies that are designed to combat any health issues due to poor air quality now, or into the future.
As the exclusive distributor of BMair systems with offices nationwide, SmartTech Australia can provide complete solutions, installation, and support while delivering safety with fresh filtered air for all industrial environments.
How BMair Protects Your Operators
Four engineered stages work together continuously to ensure the cabin atmosphere stays clean, pressurised, and safe, even in the most contaminated environments.
Outside Air Intake
Contaminated external air is drawn into the BMair unit mounted on the cabin roof, deck, or fender before it reaches the operator's breathing zone.
Pre Filter and Coarse Dust Stage
Larger particles are captured first, protecting the HEPA stage and extending overall filter life significantly, reducing maintenance costs across your fleet.
HEPA and Activated Carbon Filtration
Fine dust, silica, asbestos, and harmful gases are removed through HEPA 13 and activated carbon stages, capturing 99.95% of hazardous particulates.
Positive Pressure and Real-Time Monitoring
Clean filtered air is blown into the cabin at 50 Pa above ambient pressure. The BMair Controller continuously monitors pressure, filter status, and logs all compliance data.

Not every machine is a straightforward roof-mount. Unusual cab geometry, restricted access points, fender configurations, and fixed-space installations all require a different approach. SmartTech Australia has an in-house engineer dedicated to designing custom mounting solutions for exactly these situations.
Whether it is a machine that has never had a cabin filtration system fitted, a control room with specific space constraints, or an unusual fleet configuration requiring a repeatable kit, our engineer works through the problem and delivers a solution that fits properly, performs correctly, and meets the standard.
Bespoke mounting brackets: designed for machines where no standard kit exists
Control room and crib room installations: with appropriate power and ducting solutions
Fleet-wide custom kits: one assessment, repeatable solution across your entire fleet
Field installation nationwide: SmartTech technicians supply, install, and commission on site
Custom kits for restricted cab heights and non-standard roof profiles on underground loaders, bolters, and roadheaders.
Bespoke solutions for high-reach and demolition machines where standard brackets do not suit the machine geometry.
Fixed-space installations in site offices, welfare containers, switch rooms, and portable buildings with tailored power solutions.
Mounting solutions for tractors, compact excavators, skid steers, and forklifts where space and geometry present challenges.
BMair Cabin Air Filtration
Common questions from operators, safety managers, and fleet managers about BMair cabin air filtration systems.
The right system depends on your machine type, available mounting space, and the contamination environment. The BMair Protector is the starting point for standard machine cabs with roof, deck, or fender space, covering the majority of excavators, loaders, dozers, and haul trucks. The Protector Plus X adds full gas protection for sites with chemical vapours, diesel fumes, or composting gases. The MAO-3C Cab Guard suits machines where roof mounting is not possible. The F20 is the right choice for compact machines and restricted installation spaces from 3 to 100 tonnes. The F33 and F33-R suit heavy-duty environments and fixed spaces including control rooms and crib rooms.
Contact SmartTech and we will confirm the right unit for your specific machine make, model, and site.
Yes. All BMair systems meet ISO 23875, the international standard for operator enclosure pressurisation and filtration on earth-moving machinery. ISO 23875 requires a minimum cabin pressure of 50 Pa above ambient, HEPA-grade filtration, and real-time pressure monitoring. BMair systems meet or exceed all three requirements.
Australia's Work Health and Safety regulations require silica dust exposure to be kept below 0.05 mg/m³ averaged over an eight-hour shift. A positive-pressure HEPA cabin system meeting ISO 23875 is the most effective engineering control available. Compatible systems also support compliance with Queensland's RS20 mining standard. BMair Connect provides the continuous pressure logging and filter tracking needed to demonstrate compliance during an audit. Read more about ISO 23875 in Australia.
The two ranges use different controller systems. The BMair Protector, Protector Plus X, and MAO-3C Cab Guard use the new BMair Controller, which connects to the BMair Connect portal for automatic RFID filter tracking, real-time pressure monitoring, and digital compliance logging. This is the newest generation of BMair technology and the recommended choice for sites that need automated audit documentation.
The F20, F33, and F33-R use the F4000 Smart Control, which provides real-time pressure monitoring, 4G data logging, and maintenance alerts via touchscreen, but does not connect to the BMair Connect portal. The F-Series remains an excellent and proven option, particularly for applications requiring the specific form factors of the F20 (compact cylindrical) or F33 (fixed spaces and control rooms). SmartTech Australia stocks both ranges and can advise which is the better fit for your fleet.
Yes. SmartTech Australia has an in-house engineer who designs custom mounting solutions for machines where standard install kits do not fit. This covers unusual cab geometry, height-restricted machines, fender and deck configurations, and fixed-space installations. We have engineered custom solutions for demolition excavators, underground machinery, compact agricultural equipment, and site containers.
The BMair MAO-3C Cab Guard is specifically designed for deck and fender mounting as an alternative to roof installation. The F20 mounts on virtually any machine from 3 tonnes up due to its 350 mm cylindrical footprint. Contact SmartTech with your machine make, model, and any known mounting constraints and we will confirm the right approach.
For systems using BMair Connect (Protector, Plus X, MAO-3C), the compliance record is fully automatic. From the portal you can immediately produce the complete filter change history for any machine, cabin pressure data showing the system operated above 50 Pa, a log of any pressure events and when they were resolved, and the annual inspection certificate generated by a SmartTech technician. No manual preparation is required.
For F-Series systems using the F4000 Smart Control, the controller logs pressure data and maintenance events via 4G. Contact SmartTech to discuss what documentation is available for your specific system configuration and how to structure your records for an upcoming audit.
Yes. The F33 and F33-R are both suitable for fixed-space installations as well as heavy equipment cabs. They are regularly installed in mine site control rooms, crib rooms, smoko rooms, welfare containers, portable site offices, and switch rooms, anywhere workers spend time in an environment that may be contaminated by dust, silica, gases, or biological particulates.
The F33 mounts horizontally or vertically and runs on 12V or 24V DC. For mains-powered buildings, a suitable AC-to-DC converter is used. SmartTech Australia supplies and installs both units in fixed-space applications across mining, quarrying, civil construction, and industrial sites nationwide. Contact SmartTech to discuss the right configuration for your site buildings.
